Valley End is a two form entry school which is well resourced and generously staffed to ensure all our children have the support they need at every stage in their learning journey. Each class has a teacher and teaching assistant (TA). Some classes have additional learning support assistants (LSAs) to support children with specific needs.
All classes have access to outside learning from their classes and Early Years has its own designated playground which provides opportunities for learning throughout the day. Our main playground provides a creative environment for our children to play and learn with various areas designed to provide a variety of opportunities for all to enjoy: covered outside theatre; Year 2 Victorian Classroom for role play; music garden; imaginative play frame; colourful playground markings and a host of playground equipment for children to use as well as our splendid field.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by trees and hedgerow giving a wealth of first-hand curriculum opportunities for teachers to use with their classes.
Classrooms are inviting and spacious and there are additional learning spaces, for example the IT Suite, Owl Library and Learning Room, conservatory learning space as well as a large hall for indoor PE, drama and whole school assemblies.
All children benefit from free school meals which are cooked on site and served over two sittings creating an enjoyable eating experience and further opportunities to learn about social skills.
Many clubs run after school as well as our Early Bird Club from 8am daily.
