If your child is away from school due to ill health please RING the school on the first day of absence by 9.30 a.m. An illness must be followed by a letter or email giving reasons for absence on the child’s first day back.
Leave of Absence
The Education Regulations 2013, which became law on 1st September 2013 state that Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. Parents are therefore asked to consider very carefully the implications for their own child and others before making a decision to remove their child from the education that is provided in school term time.
If after consideration parents feel it is an exceptional circumstance to take a child out of school during term time, then a Leave of Absence form , available from the school office, should be completed and returned to the Headteacher, Mr Mead, at least at least two weeks’ prior to the absence. Mr Mead will decide if the absence is authorised or unauthorised.
Please refer to our Attendance Policy for further information.
If children have been sick or suffered from diarrhoea they should not return to school for 48 hours after the last episode of either. If your child becomes sick whilst at school, the school office will inform you or your chosen contact. Please ensure you notify us of any changes in your contacts immediately as we rely on these to get hold of you in case of emergency.
