We teach the cursive style of handwriting as soon as all letters are formed correctly.
Children have supervised access to the internet – you will be asked to fill in a consent form regarding internet access and the publishing of photographs on the school website – for more information about this please contact the office.
Children have several PE sessions a week which are usually on the same day each week.
PE kits should be kept in school at all times in a named ‘drawstring’ bag. Children need a PE shirt, PE shorts and plimsolls or trainers that can be put on easily. Girls might need socks if wearing tights. All items should be clearly named.
Reading books come home in the book bag with a ‘reading diary’. This is for two way communication. Parents are free to make comments in the book once you have heard your child read.
It is important to hear your child ready every night.
All children in Year 1 and 2 learn to play the recorder during a weekly lesson.
Children have a regular non-fiction library session on the same day each week. They are able to select any book they like from the library. These books are kept in school.
If you would like to find out more about our curriculum please contact the school office on firstname.lastname@example.org.
